Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) is one of the world’s largest wine companies, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
The company has a rich heritage and a portfolio of some of the most recognised and awarded wine brands in the world. TWE is focused on portfolio premiumisation and brand-led marketing, with world-class production facilities in internationally recognised wine regions.
The company sources grapes from a mix of owned, leased and third-party vineyards, employing approximately 3,000 winemakers, viticulturalists, sales, marketing, distribution and support staff across the globe, TWE’s wine is sold in more than 70 countries around the world.
Tell us about your flagship brands- e.g. the vision, branding, heritage etc.…?
Our portfolio of over 70 wine brands is unmatached on the world stage. From the iconic luxury trustmark of Penfolds, to the broad, enduring appeal of Lindeman’s, and newer brands like 19 Crimes captiovating a fresh generation of consumers, we are proud to market and sell brands with depth, breadth and scale. Brands that have tremendous heritage, a rich quality and a reputation for excellence across the globe.
How would you describe the culture at Treasury Wine Estates (TWE)?
One word comes up consistently when our colleagues talk about our culture and that is ‘family’. We are a very diverse, passionate team of Thinkers, Makers and Doers who put collaboration at the forefront of how we get results. Whilst we work hard, we ensure fun remains on the agenda. Crucially, we couldn’t do what we do without our inclusive and approachable leadership team.
What training and development opportunities are provided to employees?
We offer a huge range of functional and leadership related training and development opportunities. We believe it is important for all members of the team to understand and embrace our wine culture and therefore we offer Wine and Spirits Education Trust level 2 to everyone, regardless of role.
LEAD 1.0 is a program of 11 facilitator led modules that cover a variety of leadership and management topics such as Courageous Conversations and Coaching and Performance. These modules are also open to all colleagues.
LEAD 2.0 is an in-depth experience of self-awareness for high-potential employees, providing them the tools and space to work on their own personal leadership style and point of view.
TWEforShe represents TWE’s commitment to supporting women in unlocking their potential. The program delivers on our CEO’s vision to equip women with the skills to succeed in any environment with a particular focus on building confidence.
Sales Academy was developed in order to deliver one ‘TWE Way of Selling’ and embed a common sales language, implement a single, global set of sales competencies and invest in the global capability development of our team members.
TWE Way of Marketing was born to help us achieve our Marketing Vision & Strategy. Similar to Sales Academy, we want to ensure a globally consistent approach to how we execute our vision and strategy.
Building Business Acumen is a course targeted at developing our understanding of TWE’s wine value chain. The TWE Business Acumen program is designed to equip employees with a sound understanding of how our business works in order to make better strategic decisions every day.
This is just a snapshot of the training opportunities available that are ultimately underpinned by on-the-job development and cross functional project work.
