Chivas Brothers is committed to developing the skills of its employees. They are supported to craft a career path and have many assets available to them to further their learning, including the opportunity to attend the Pernod Ricard University. Set up in 2011, the Pernod Ricard University now offers a variety of training programmes for Pernod Ricard employees in a range of disciplines.
Chivas Brothers also focuses on recruiting the best graduate talent through its International Graduate Programme; a two-year scheme that trains graduates to become Brand Ambassadors in one of Pernod Ricard’s 85 markets. The scheme is all about bringing new skills to the organisation, with a focus on harnessing young talent and creating a world-class group of graduates that can engage customers around the world. Once qualified, Brand Ambassadors bring their brand to life with local sales teams, bar professionals and consumers – a career that turns creativity into a reality.
Graduate Brand Ambassador Claire McEvinney is currently supporting the Beefeater team in Madrid and comments: “I knew the global spirits industry was for me. I’d studied international business and Spanish at university. Working in bars and experiencing a drinks internship in New York was a great introduction, so when I found the opportunity to join the Chivas Brothers International Graduate Programme it was the perfect option.
I really liked the application process – both the group and individual activities. Some of the interviews took a surprising turn, with questions that really stretched you. I soon realised that as well as your potential, it was your personality they were interested in. I have applied this to my role with Beefeater in Spain and it helps me day in, day out to inspire the drinks trade, consumers and buyers to choose Beefeater.
